In December we didn’t have the opportunity to talk about our last event of the month: Tecnam Aircraft's webinar. They invited us as guests for the event which hit topics such as the innovations in technology that Tecnam brought into the aerospace field and the goals they managed to reach throughout the year.
We, as speakers during the meeting, had the opportunity to ask some questions about their most recent activities, adding to the presentation the students’ point of view. Our members were allowed to join the conversation, underlining through live-chat the arguments they were most interested in and asking questions on their own.
During this experience, we matured the idea that an interactive interview is a perfect way to engage an online public of students. That's the reason why we organized a new series of webinars, called "#EANaChats with".
The first one was focused on the ALTHAIR Project. It was developed by students and researchers. They worked on the idea that microalgae could potentially shield from radiation, with the final goal of creating a shield for future space missions. Some days before Christmas this project won first place in a competition held by the European Space Agency (ESA). The event was live on YouTube and gained lots of attention, with two members of the LB interviewing the ALTHAIR team.
The next online meeting will be in few days. The topics will be gender equality in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and the Italian aerospace field. The speakers come from an international association, Women in Aerospace- Europe, particularly from their Local Group in Rome!
We hope you all stay safe.
